Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Position available in: Elk Grove Village, IL Job Type: Full-time Broetje Automation is the world’s leading expert & OEM in aircraft manufacturing automation and robotics, working with the top names in our industry. US locations include Chicago (IL), Charleston (SC), Savannah (GA), Wichita (KS), Detroit (MI), Mobile, (AL) and Seattle (WA). Education:+ Associate degree in electrical engineering or equivalent work experience.
Desired Experience & Qualifications:+ Experience designing for large automated systems from initial concept through installation and customer buy off.
+ Strong fundamental understanding of electrical design practices, machine/motion control systems, VFD/Drive control systems, and electro-mechanical systems.
+ Experience with PLC programming, ideally Siemens or Allen Bradley.
+ Proficient with EPLAN for creating electrical drawings.
+ Exposure to assembling and commissioning large motion-controlled systems and building panels.
+ Excellent documentation practices to record how to improve the project/processes going forward.
+ Detail oriented and able manage several projects in parallel.
+ Knowledge and compliance of NEC, NFPA 79 and UL electrical standards.
Job Responsibilities+ Provide electrical and controls engineering input for design of new equipment & system introductions.
+ Generate and maintain electrical BOMs.
+ Generate panel layout for new automated systems.
+ Develop full electrical drawing set in EPLAN and maintain current electrical engineering standards/libraries/databases for to re-use sections of the drawings for future projects.
+ Assist Sales team with electrical engineering expertise for potential new products/projects.
+ Verifying NEC code compliance
+ Communicate directly with design team, procurement & production, and German colleagues.
