Job Title: Vice President of Finance

Salary Range: $150,000 – $170,000 (Based on Qualifications and Experience)

Location: Crystal Lake, IL (Corporate Headquarters)

Under the guidance of the President, the Vice President of Finance will be a key member of the leadership team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all financial functions of the company, including financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, accounting, treasury, tax, retirement, company insurance, and financial reporting. The Vice President of Finance will provide strategic financial leadership, guidance, and insights to support the company's growth objectives, operational efficiency, and overall financial health.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's strategic objectives and growth initiatives.
  • Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, working closely with department heads to establish financial targets and performance metrics.
  • Conduct monthly/quarterly financial analysis and performance assessments to identify opportunities for cost optimization, revenue enhancement, and risk mitigation.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial reporting to the vice presidents, board of directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional development.
  • Oversee all accounting operations, including cash flow management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and month-end close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, banking partners, company insurance vendors, and attorneys (i.e. Worker’s Compensation, General & Professional Liability, Deferred Compensation Plans, 401k Administration, Company, State, and Payroll Taxes).
  • Evaluate and implement financial systems, tools, and processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
  • Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and capital allocation to support strategic investments and business initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments, such as operations, information technology, facilities, business performance, and human resources, to drive business performance and achieve corporate goals.
  • Oversee the day-to-day administration of the company's 401(k) plan with assistance from the HR Department.
  • Ensure stock program compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies related to retirement plans.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • Proven track record of success in financial leadership roles, with a minimum of 15 years of experience in a similar capacity. Architect/Engineering Industry experience is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial principles, practices, and regulations, including reporting requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills and strategic thinking ability, with the capacity to translate financial data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with department heads, senior management, and board members.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, with a focus on team building, talent development, and driving results in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Hands-on approach and willingness to dive into details while maintaining a big-picture perspective.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting software; experience with project management systems (Vantagepoint) is a plus.
  • High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism, with a commitment to upholding the highest standards of financial integrity and corporate governance.
