Job Description

The Inventory Clerk will perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties such as answering the telephone, typing documents, filing, and liaising with clients. The duties should be completed in accordance with True Value standard procedures and in support of facility operating needs.

Scheduled Days: Monday through Thursday Hours: 2:00pm to 12:00am

Starting Pay: $17.00 per hour

Responsibilities: (May perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned).

  1. Helps maintains daily accuracy of Regional Distribution Center (RDC) inventory.
  2. Aids in the inspections of shipment of new stock as they come in, checks to make sure orders have been filled correctly, and looks for damage; and makes arrangements to correct damaged or incorrect orders.
  3. Helps unloads and loads inventory trucks and places items in their proper place in the warehouse.
  4. Processes inventory orders, logs items that have been received and items that have been taken from inventory and moves product from the stock room or warehouse to the required location.
  5. Learns the functionality of Automated Distribution System (ADS) and other related system for the (RDC).
  6. Helps ensure inventory accuracy by conducting research, correcting errors, generate reporting, and document all inventory variances.
  7. Follows the Perpetual Inventory Cycle Count for each inventory year.
  8. Maintains accuracy on reserve locations, inbound and outbound transactions using various analytical PC based tools.
  9. Works closely with management to ensure the quality and accuracy of daily inventory and inventory related requirements.

Education & Experience:

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.

1-3 years of experience, preferably in Communication, Customer Service, of Office environment.

Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

Knowledge of internal operating systems and software.

Work Environment: Generally, works in climate-controlled office environment. However, the position will be required to visit areas where air conditioning is unavailable and may be exposed to chemicals that are routinely present in the organizations facilities.
