You will support end-to-end logistics (physical flows from plants to customers), including all warehouse, transport and co-packing operations, in terms of service, cost, health and safety, quality, food defense, sustainability, legal requirements and policies compliance. You will provide team leadership and direction for the logistics organization. In this role, you will implement logistics strategy and effectively execute operations to ensure optimum logistics solutions while supporting various routes-to-market, and balancing service and cost. You will work collaboratively with internal and external (third-party logistics vendors) business partners to ensure effective management, timely solutions and execution.

How you will contribute

You will:

+ Be accountable for warehouse, transportation, international logistics (import/export) and co-packing operations

+ Ensure the implementation of the business plan by delivering a consistent service level, adapting the supply chain to the demanding and changing customer environment and ensuring sufficient operational capacity to deliver business needs

+ Be accountable for delivering logistics operational cost budget, ensuring that best-in-class controls and governance are in place

+ Foster, initiate and lead continuous improvement programs that reduce cost and our carbon footprint and improve the service performance of the operation

+ Ensure successful project implementation

+ Select, manage and develop long-term relationships with third-party service providers

+ Ensure adherence to health and safety, quality, food defense and legal requirements and policies

+ Establish a business continuity plan for logistics operations.

+ Support best-practices sharing and adoption

More about this role

+ Responsible for 10 DSD locations 11 cross docks ( Il, MN,MO,ND, MI, TN, OH)

+ Responsible for an approximate $10mm budget and $1BN in revenue

Education / Certifications:

+ Bachelor’s Degree Required in Supply Chain, Logistics and/ or related discipline

+ Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred.

Job specific requirements:

+ 10 yrs of direct experience in managing remote teams and regional P&L responsibility

+ Experience in managing team who have hourly team members as direct reports

+ Demonstrated experience leading IL6S.

+ Must have experience in logistics, Key fleet transportation, warehousing and department of Transportation

+ Union Experience (Teamsters)

Job specific responsibilities:

+ Source, onboard, and develop direct reports and branch teams in multiple settings (classroom, OJT, Work-with.) across entire operation (delivery, cross-dock, dry warehouse). Coach direct reports to create and execute development plans and support individual career goals.

+ Partner with upstream area resources (Sr. Fulfillment Manager, Sr. Manager of Product Supply, Biscuit Regional Demand Planner, Biscuit Inventory Planner). Manage resources to provide admin and analytical support for necessary logistical functions (i.e. Order Management, Inventory Management, Fleet/Branch Optimization.)

+ Identify supply chain opportunities and ensure issues are addressed in strategic and tactical plans.

+ Drive improvements and optimize operations across 5 key CS&L pillars: Safety, Service, Cost, Waste, and People.

+ Manage and execute major initiatives: Customer Care, productivity gains, order fulfillment, and customer initiatives. Facilitate interaction between cross-functional stakeholders to ensure ownership and execution of a common plan.

+ P&L responsibility for region. Work with local management to develop annual operating site plans and budget, optimize resources, and ensure ongoing execution of site plans across all branches/cross dock/RDC locations.

+ Develop and leverage relationships with HQ and store-level customers to achieve logistics efficiencies across multiple categories to drive functional efficiencies at the back door.

+ Manage large, complex fleet and associated equipment to ensure effective asset utilization and to support strategic customer initiatives while complying with applicable regulations.

+ Provide logistical support for Regional Vice President and local retail teams with quarter end gap closure plans, cash flow optimization (invoice retrieval and reconciliation), monthly priority planning, and general sales support.

Travel requirements:

30%- 40% that may vary due to business need
