TITLE:                          Software Engineer

EMPLOYER:                 Stripe, Inc.

DUTIES:                       Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems across Stripes engineering teams using Ruby, Scala, and Go; Build software infrastructure, including developing, testing, and deploying it; Design and develop software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design; Engineer payments integration with various financial partners software systems; Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation; Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack; Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine the feasibility of design within time and cost constraints; Work with engineers across the company to build new features at large-scale; Build new systems to securely store sensitive data; Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes.

LOCATION:                  Chicago, IL (and various unanticipated work locations across the U.S.)

REQUIREMENTS:         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related and 1 year of Software engineering experience.

Position also requires the following:

1 year of experience working with Python, Ruby, React, and AWS;

1 year of experience in implementing industry standard design patterns;

1 year of software engineering experience in building full-stack web applications at scale;

1 year of experience in building frontend Javascript web applications;

1 year of experience with database management in MongoDB; and,

1 year of experience in using SQL and related query languages to perform data analysis.

SALARY:                      $153,041-$163,041/year.
