Job Description
Schneider Electric has an opportunity for an Senior Project Engineer in our Chicago, IL location, supporting the Process Automation team at our ProLeit subsidiary. This is a great opportunity to
work within a small growing entity as part of the larger Schneider Electric corporation.
What will you do?
- Plan, design, and execute software engineering and commissioning work for ProLeiT's U.S. based
business in-house and on-site (25% travel to customer sites within North America). - Provide software programming in complex process automation setups, primarily in
the brewing and food industry. - Perform other duties adjacent to your responsibilities as Project Engineer that may be reasonably assigned to you by your manager
- Planning of project work based on review of team progress.
- Act as the senior point of contact for clients' management teams throughout project initiation and delivery.
- Initiate and document change requests, extensions, and similar action items for client projects.
What qualifications will make you successful?
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in a related process discipline. Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Biotechnology, or process engineering preferred.
- 3 years of work experience providing engineering and commissioning services in the field of process automation working with batch centric automation systems.
- Experience utilizing Rockwell Automation PLCs, Siemens PLCs and Modicon PLCs to guarantee reliability and process stability with a real time control architecture
- Utilizing P&ID and electrical drawings to understand the setup defined for the process execution
- Experience defining and implementing the most feasible control strategies based on the layout to reach customer demands with respect to quality, efficiency and process safety;
- Experience utilizing S88 process control system functionality to provide the best possible standardization and modular repeatability of process functionality for our customers
- Experience utilizing process control systems for the automation of S88 compliant processes
- Experience creating batch models from process requirements definitions
- Experience setting up of complex structures in database models reflecting customer requirements
- Experience coordinating execution of necessary steps for full automation of processes.
