Description:

Position Summary
The Administrative Nurse I is responsible for employee health and wellness for faculty and staff at the Rockford campus and acts as a regional extension of University Health Services (UHS). Responsibilities include providing new employee health clearances, return to work clearances based on UHS protocols, monitoring of immunization programs, and developing employee wellness programs at the Rockford campus.

Duties & Responsibilities

Completes employee health visits per university policy and department protocols. Issue employee health clearances based on univeristy protocols.
Develop wellness programs and education designed to promote healthy lifestyles for our faculty and staff.
Act as a liaison between the Rockford campus and University Health Services for employee health concerns and documentation.
Implement and utilize the university Immuware system designed to track and monitor employee health related requirements. Follow-up with employees to ensure compliance to vaccination and health related requirements._x000d_
Provides safe, competent and efficient nursing care for minor and acute injuries and illnesses via protocols and medical directives
Monitors employee work-related illness and injury trends and assesses, develops and implements strategies to prevent work-acquired injury or illness
Safely administers and appropriately documents on immunizations, respiratory fit testing, and TB skin test to employees per protocol.
Act as an advocate for the rights of employees by ensuring access to preventative helaht and safety measures._x000d_
Guides employees to community resources and/or employee assistance programs as needed.
Maintains and ensures confidentiality of patient information and medical records.
Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications


Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in Illinois with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Division of Professional Regulation.
One year of RN experience.
Current AHA BLS/CPR and other required unit specific certifications.
Effective communication skills (oral and written) that facilitate therapeutic relationships between patients, family, and health care providers.
Intermediate computer skills with the ability to become proficient in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) with on-the-job training.
Excellent attendance, interpersonal skills and work history required.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior expereience in either an employee health clinic, family medicine, or internal medicine clinic.
