We are seeking a seasoned a Civil Structural Engineer with a specialization in county bridge structures to join our dynamic team. This is a direct hire role located in Decatur IL.
In this role, you will be responsible for spearheading the design and implementation of structural projects related to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), county, and highway infrastructure. Your primary focus will be on bridges and box culverts, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and visual appeal of these structures.
This position offers 5K in RELOCATION assistance

responsibilities:
- Establish and adhere to project scopes and budgets.
- Effectively communicate project expectations and objectives with both internal staff and clients, utilizing both written and verbal channels.
- Conduct on-site inspections and prepare comprehensive structure condition reports.
- Interpret specifications and drawings, propose and document design modifications, and coordinate seamlessly with the design team.
- Conduct Quality Assurance/Quality Checks on all projects to uphold Chastain’s commitment to delivering superior service to our clients.
- Provide oversight and mentorship to staff while also offering project support to other departments within Chastain.
- Manage client relationships and actively cultivate new business connections.
- Capability to engage in design work related to non-bridge projects is advantageous but not mandat
