Job Description:

The Restaurant Design + Construction Manager is responsible for all aspects of CosMc’s pilot store projects, from concept plans through construction. This role will perform and oversee design and construction activities including planning, project management, execution, building materials and methods, and evaluating costs to ensure successful completion of the pilot program. The design + construction manager will also play critical role in the refinement of the concept to be fit for scale.

The ideal candidate will be a strong performer, with expertise in and knowledge of multiple disciplines with a focus on construction management while not being limited by historical approaches. The candidate will also have an entrepreneurial mindset, comfort with ambiguity and agile ways of working, and openness to evolving their own role and responsibilities as we continue to ensure our pilot team’s Development function is fit for purpose.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Engage and manage consultants required throughout the development process from concept design through construction completion.

+ Leads external construction managers and consultants to secure all required entitlements, permits and approvals.

+ Ability to manage multiple projects in various stages of development simultaneously.

+ Cultivates and promotes positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (i.e.:, corporate staff, general contractors, architects, vendors and municipal authorities etc.)

+ Provides direction and guidance to outside consultants responsible for the development of construction methods.

+ Coordinates with Director of Development to ensure consistency and application of concept and Brand standards.

+ Contributes to the management and execution of the Pilot portfolio with Director of Development

+ Contributes technical and creative solutions for specific aspects of building design and construction with the Director of Development

+ Strategic thinker capable of creating processes and procedures for the real estate and development function.

+ Maintains appropriate records for use in planning and measuring the development goals and objectives.

+ Provides regular project reports and updates to management.

+ Partners with the Director of Development and broader CosMc’s team to expedite openings.

Qualifications:

+ BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related fields preferred.

+ 6+ years’ experience in corporate construction, architecture or related experience.

+ Project management experience in Quick-Service-Restaurant (QSR) industry preferred.

+ Ability to embrace new agile ways of working and not be limited by historical approaches.

+ Strong communication skills-both written and verbal.

+ Well-organized, methodical, and able to set and work to tight deadlines.

+ Ability to work at a fast pace and able to adapt to changing priorities.

Location flexible but must have access to major airport and ability to travel up to 60% across U.S. geographies. (Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, San Antonio in near term)
