Job Description
Develops and continually updates a thorough risk assessment, including inspection of premises to determine security needs, testing of alarm systems and safety equipment, and detection of safety hazards; Provides and regularly updates a thorough risk analysis based upon assessment, then creates, plans and directs the implementation of security measures to mitigate those risks based upon security needs identified, such as new or updated security or safety systems. Updates and changes security measures as needed when risks change or evolve; Develops and establishes security procedures based upon risk analysis for the establishment or for protection of individuals, equipment, cargo, and property, updating as needed according to updated risk analyses; Estimates costs of security operations and confers with other management personnel to determine cost/benefit of systems and procedures and to formulate and coordinate security programs with company's activities; Conducts background investigation of job applicants or employees to obtain information such as criminal and personal histories, character references, or wage garnishments; Trains workers in security operations, such as detecting and apprehending intruders, first aid, or fire safety; Serves as the main point of contact with both management and personnel in the development, revision, or updating of company security measures; Supervises monitoring of alarm system controls and leads the investigation of alarm signals and directs surveillance of company’s premises or suspects; Directs emergency response during fires, storms, natural disasters, and other emergencies; Confers and cooperates with police, fire, and civil defense authorities to coordinate activities during emergencies; Prepares reports concerning investigations, security needs, and recommendations, or security manual of procedures.
