Position Title:
PLUMBER INSTALLER (APPRENTICESHIP)
Position Description:
The Plumber Installer is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing used for water distribution and wastewater disposal.
- Work under the supervision of a licensed plumber.
- Perform routine maintenance of plumbing systems.
- Study plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of repairs and/or installations.
- Performs preventative maintenance work as required.
- Inspect joints, valves, pumps, water heaters, sinks, toilets, faucets, pumps, and other plumbing system components to locate malfunctions and repairs or replaces when necessary.
- Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, appliances such as dishwashers and water heaters, and fixtures such as sinks and toilets, using hand and power tools.
- Cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings, using hand and power tools.
- Adhere to current rules and regulations related to plumbing so that systems pass inspection the first time.
- Keep records and produce detailed timesheets.
- Train apprentices in workmanship and code.
- Provide excellent customer service to build lifelong relationships with customers.
Position Requirements:
- 5 years of experience in plumbing
Physical Requirements
- Physical dexterity to operate hand and power tools.
- Ability to continually walk, stand, climb, stoop, bend, kneel, reach in all directions.
- Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to regularly lift, carry, and/or move heavy objects.
