Position OverviewThe Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Child Welfare Trainee. Under general supervision, this position will participate in a trainee program for 6 to 12 months, to a maximum of 24 months to obtain additional training and experience. The position will provide on the job training in agency field services and administrative services to enable the selected candidate to develop working skills in the field of child welfare. This position provides a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about children and interested in playing a role in ensuring that children and youth remain safe. Job Responsibilities1. Serves as Child Welfare Trainee.
2. Develops working skills to advance in completing projects of increased complexity involving academic knowledge coupled with on-the-job training.
3. Attends meetings to broaden knowledge of agency operations.
4. Assists supervisor with projects acquired to further agency operations and/or agenda and begins to participate in assigned area of responsibility.
5. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
