Program Assistant- School of Extended Learning

Eastern Illinois University is seeking candidates for a Program Assistant Position in the School of Extended Learning. Candidate will support the SEL director in creating, managing, and maintaining professional development (PD), creating marketing materials, and assessing program needs. This position will require some overnight travel within the state of Illinois and times of extended walking/standing. Some duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Facilitate PD events on and off campus; scheduling events and locations, speakers, and creating marketing and speaking materials.
  2. Compiling and analyzing to provide knowledge/expertise to clients.
  3. Develop trainings such as presentations. Seminars, or workshops.
  4. Manage several budgets and generate financial reports for all PD events.
  5. Hire, train, and supervise student workers.

Qualified candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Project Management, or another closely related field. The right candidate will be organized, detail oriented, and adaptable. Prior experience with Budgeting/Fiscal Management, Higher Education, or Learning Management is preferred.

The Civil Service examination for this classification is a credentials assessment. No participation other than submission of applicant materials is required from qualified applicants. Upon successful selection of a candidate, all scores will be voided from this register.
