Senior Software Development Analyst

Job Description

Design, modify, test, implement, and maintain firm software applications.  Serve as a key contributor in the full software development lifecycle.  Ensure software development activities comply with firm standards and procedures.  Plan, coordinate, and execute software development projects.  Communicate project status and issues that may impede project success to management.  Participate in software design meetings.  Synthesize user business requirements and create detailed technical specifications based on conceptual application design.  Lead the testing of new or modified application software.  Analyze testing results and software code to determine root causes of bugs or errors and resolve issues.  Resolve technical issues, collaborating with other IT professionals and vendors as necessary.  Identify opportunities to streamline and enhance software lifecycle activities to ensure application design and maintenance tasks are effective, efficient, and integrated with necessary architecture and security protocols.  Develop tools and training aids for application users.  Develop and maintain complete application documentation, including conceptual and detailed designs, test cases, production implementation plans, and maintenance reports.  Collaborate with IT infrastructure staff to plan, test, and document application specific business continuity and disaster recovery plans.  Provide guidance to less experienced team members.  Monitor industry trends that may impact software development solutions.  Identify and evaluate new technologies for implementation.  Ensure all activities are in compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.  Telecommuting:  Hybrid – Option to Telecommute.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, plus 5 years of experience in a software development occupation.  Additionally, the applicant must have professional experience with: 1) Writing and optimizing stored procedures; 2) Implementing software development methodologies including Agile, and best practices in code management and process; 3) Utilizing Microsoft SQL, .NET, and server services (including SSRS, SSIS, SSAS); 4) Managing IT project rollouts to end users, working with outside teams and senior management, and writing documentation to be consumed across teams and business units; 5) Developing customized solutions within Salesforce or Linedata platform; 6) Writing and executing test scripts for configuration and development projects; and 7) Building software in Microsoft Azure.
