Description:
Candidates will be working in the production of de-boning pork items. The facility is not a slaughter house – large cuts of meat are received from their plant in Central Illinois where they are cut in specified areas to remove bones and other excess parts that are typically discarded. Candidates will be working on production lines in GMP attire, using handheld blades to meticulously make the necessary cuts. They will wear special gloves that will keep their hands warm and protected, as well as wrist guards.
They will be standing in the same area for the entirety of the shift, as a conveyor brings large meat parts that they will be cutting. They will be responsible for the same cut of meat so that the production line can move efficiently. The job will be very repetitive, but they should expect to work on different stages of the line as they perfect the areas they are trained in. There are also areas of production that they are operating rollers that trim excess meat off of parts.
The entire production facility is cold and refrigerated. Candidates will be required to wear hair nets and beard nets, as it is a GMP environment. Clean smock jackets will be provided, and candidates are encouraged to wear sweatshirts, hoodies, or even hats as well.
