By joining our team, we’ll harness your expertise as an innovator and business leader to develop strategies to solve our client’s challenging energy needs. You’ll work closely across operations, sales, and technology functions providing leadership as we expand our energy transitions portfolio.

Job Summary: You will oversee the planning, development, and delivery of high-quality power transmission and distribution projects. You will play a crucial role in developing strategic plans and ensuring successful project execution within the power sector. Your focus will be on development of the Canadian market and the Northeast region of North America.

Your primary responsibilities will include client-facing delivery in leadership roles to develop implementation strategies for large programs, responsible for overall work progress, technical performance and client and stakeholder satisfaction. You’ll be expected to possess highly collaborative and sophisticated communication and problem-solving skills and finesse. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated ability to anticipate challenges and manage “up and out” while supporting large teams responsible for the daily details of project delivery. You will focus on 1) development of delivery capability for electrical transmission and distribution engineering design projects for utility, industrial and municipal clients, 2) execution of market strategy to support Jacobs’s growth in the Energy Transitions market, 3) collaborating with Client Account Managers and sales professionals on pursuits of strategic importance to the firm. This will include extensive client dialogue, team building, and development of differentiating strategies. 4) You will also continue development of our HVDC Practice Across North America. You will work in collaboration with our global and North Americas Teams, to help our continued grow across the continent.

Here’s what you’ll need :

+ Leadership: Provide strong leadership to the transmission and distribution team, ensuring clear objectives, performance expectations, and accountability.

+ Strategic Planning: Develop and implement long-term strategies for the transmission and distribution sector, aligning them with Jacobs goals and market trends.

+ Project Portfolio Management: Oversee the planning, design, and execution of transmission and distribution projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.

+ Stakeholder Management: Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, customers, suppliers, and industry partners.

+ Technical Expertise: Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and efficiency in project delivery.

+ Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks that may impact project timelines, costs, or quality, and develop appropriate contingency plans.

+ Team Development: Build a high-performing team by recruiting, training, and developing talented professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems, or a related field

+ Extensive experience (typically around 10-15 years) in transmission and distribution within the power industry, with progressively increasing levels of responsibility.

+ Strong knowledge of power system engineering, project management methodologies, and industry standards.

+ Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale transmission and distribution projects.

+ Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve common goals.

+ Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities, with the capacity to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.

+ Sound understanding of regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements in the power sector.

+ Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
