Overview

The University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, Department of Pediatrics, is seeking academic physicians for a position in our Division of Infectious Disease to serve as a Division Head of the Division. Proven excellence in clinical care and teaching are necessary to join or active, growing program. This outstanding opportunity exists to immediately assume a leadership role as UICOMP Division Head of Pediatric Infectious Disease. The position requires Board certification in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Disease.
This physician will be responsible for the overall operation of the division so that, as a whole, the division supports the mission of UICOMP and Children's Hospital of Illinois (CHOI). This includes education, clinical services, research and other scholarly activity, and advocacy. Research interest are encouraged.Job Responsibilities
Lead the development of a Division of Pediatric Infectious Disease.
Establish and maintain effective education programs in Pediatric Infectious Disease for medical students and residents.
Collaborate with other faculty in maintaining excellence in general pediatric education.
Stimulate and nurture scholarly activity within the Division.
Establish an area of research interest and academic activity.
Maintain a clinical service program to meet regional needs.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide a full spectrum of Infectious Disease.
Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Doctorate Licenses/Certifications: Physician Licensed to practice medicine in current state.
Board certified or board eligible in the appropriate specialty (ies).
Obtain and maintain medical staff membership and appropriate privileges.
Must be eligible as a provider for Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health programs.
Physician shall meet all qualifications to participate in OSF's programs for professional malpractice and other liability coverage.
Licensed by the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois to prescribe narcotics, if applicable.

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care aligned to the preferences, goals, and needs of the patients served
