Pay:
Starts at 15.50/hr (based on experience)

Summary:
Under moderate managerial oversight, this position is responsible for maintaining our production facility in a manner that high quality confectionery products may be produced. The job entails cleaning all types of equipment, cleaning of general Pilot Plant facilities, including walls, ceiling and floors. Additionally, this position is responsible for Ware Washing coverage to Technical Center laboratories and Pilot Plant, providing proper cleaning, drying, and return of lab glassware and assorted equipment using established procedures. This individual must have thorough knowledge of the lab areas serviced, including the proper storage locations for the specific lab wares.
Major Duties/Responsibilities:
Cleaning: Ensures that all Pilot Plant & laboratory equipment and areas meet established standards and guidelines for overall cleanliness. Some simple disassemble may be required and re-assemble after cleaning. Rotation through 5 areas of Ware Washing and ensure that coverage is sustained as needed to support all Tech Center laboratories and Pilot Plant projects/activities. This individual will collect laboratory wares, properly clean, dry, and sanitize them, and then return them in a timely manner to the appropriate laboratory or Pilot Plant locations. This position with handle cleaning chemicals and must adhere to safety guidelines. Additionally, this position will operate the floor scrubber, use of Strahman hoses, small hand tools, ware washing equipment, mould washing equipment, and mop and bucket.
Audits: Conduct sanitation assessments of lab and Pilot Plant areas. The completed daily checklist will be tracked and given to the designated Sanitation or Quality Lead.
Pilot Plant Support: This employee will also be asked to assist with other building-related tasks, as needed, to support the total operation of the facility and all cross-functional teams: Global Technology Optimization, Global Research & Development and Quality Regulatory Compliance.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:
Knowledge of products and processes (food industry).
Knowledge of GMP's.
Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and quality assurance procedures and applications.
Knowledge of regulatory policies applicable to food processing.
Good communication skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of GMP guidelines and sanitation/quality assurance policies and procedures for laboratory facilities and food processing equipment
Ability to work safely with cleaning chemicals, fragile specialized laboratory glassware, and the ability to wear any necessary & appropriate protective equipment.
Manual dexterity for the manual washing, scrubbing, and handling of items ranging from small equipment parts to large buckets or bowls.
Employee must be reliable, prompt, and committed as well as being a proven team player.
Ability to plan and perform work with minimum supervision.
Ability to work in varied environments and to be flexible to frequent priority and schedule changes.
Ability to repeatedly bend, stoop, and stretch, and spend a major portion of the work shift standing and walking.
Ability to lift 50 lbs. alone and 100 lbs. with assistance.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred, food manufacturing experience is a plus.
