Craftsmen Industries custom manufactures unique specialty trailers and vehicles and large format printed elements for experiential marketing and industrial solutions for brands across the industry spectrum including Boeing, PepsiCo, and Anheuser-Busch. Our Craftsmen team includes one subsidiary, Schantz Manufacturing. Schantz focuses on custom manufacturing of concession trailers for the fair and festival industry.

Position Title: Electrician
Location: Highland, IL
Position Summary: The Electrician's key role is to prioritize safety and adhere to the National Electrical Code (NEC) when installing new or performing maintenance/ repair on electrical systems. This role will compete electrical duties on custom built trailers and other facility electrical needs. Meeting quality standards and project deadlines is crucial for project success.
Primary Responsibilities:
Install wiring to carry 120/240v single phase power into custom built trailers.
Connect outlets, switches, and other electrical components as per the project plan.
Adheres to the NEC code standards ensuring safety and compliance on all electrical work performed.
Ensures proper grounding and insulation to prevent electrical hazards.
Test the installed electrical systems to ensure they are functioning correctly.
Troubleshoot any issues that may arise during testing.
All other duties, as assigned.
Required Skills:
High School diploma or equivalent and 3+ years residential or commercial electrical experience.
Knowledgeable of NEC codes.
Knowledgeable of working with conduit.
Basic understanding of pulling wires, installing, and terminating main panels.
Understanding of electrical troubleshooting.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Knowledgeable in use air and electrical hand tools.
Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and industry best practices.
Communicates well with internal/external customers to understand specific electrical requirements.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of low voltage systems such as 12-24 vdc systems with batteries, chargers, inverters, lighting, etc.
Knowledge of onboard generators and shore power for AC power.
Knowledge in AV, CAT 6 and PLC controllers.
Electrical Trade School and/or certifications.
Prior work experience as a maintenance electrician.
Certified Journeyman/Master Electrician.
Physical Skills:
Physically able to stand up to 8+ hours per day.
Physically able to climb in and out of trailers, scaffolding and ladders.
Must be able to lift/carry up to 75 lbs.
Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, squat, kneel, climb, balance, and reach overhead.
