Job Description
Information Technology - Financial Analyst (IT) will provide financial advice to the Technology portfolio as it relates to financial performance in relation the annual plan, process and approve appropriation requests, lead financial discussions with portfolio Investment Council to assess financial performance and opportunity for prioritization, participate in the redesign of the function including identifying modernization opportunities.
Must be local to Chicago, –IL (Onsite, 3 days per week)
Required Qualifications/Experience:
1. 7+ years of experience in a financial planning and analysis role understanding drivers of variance of forecast relative to plan
2. Experience developing forecast models and challenging forecast results prepared by others
3. Experience interpreting historical financial performance in relation to forecast
4. Ability to manage large data sets and synthetize results for executive management
5. Experience with all Microsoft tools, including Excel and PowerBI
6. Working knowledge of capital projects drivers and accounting treatment
7. Experience with change management and modernization
Preferred Experience:
1. Experience with Clarity PPM as a forecasting tool and management of a capital portfolio
Tasks and Responsibilities:
1. Report monthly actual results and forecast to Portfolio Investment Council, providing an explanation of variances relative to forecast and plan, respectively
2. Actively participate in Portfolio Investment Council providing insights into the financial performance of the portfolio
3. Process portfolio appropriation requests, ensuring information provided is accurate and complete and in alignment with approvals set forth by the Portfolio Investment Council
4. Actively participate in the modernization of the function including providing feedback on automation and leading specific efforts
5. Provide guidance to portfolio managers in their preparation of the monthly forecast and submission of appropriation requests
