Job Description

Role: Datawarehouse SME
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Chicago, IL 60604
Hybrid, 3 days a week. Anchor Days: Tuesday, the other two days are flexible.

Specifically, this candidate should be able to perform in the following activities:
1. Strong in SQL and Data warehouse concepts - Hands on experience working in a datawarehouse environment
a. Write complex SQLs to analyze/profile datasets and identify patterns
b. Recommend solutions based on data analysis
c. Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving skills and be quick to identify design related concerns
2. Provide Data Requirements
a. Collaborate with Subject Matter experts and Business partners in gathering data requirements
b. Work independently and demonstrate strong understanding of existing Datamodel and ETL processes
c. Experience providing data flow diagram, table structure and ETL specifications including transformation rules required for source to target mapping
d. Identify ETL dependencies and help orchestrate a sequence of data loads in the ETL pipeline
e. Demonstrate good communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate data requirements, design concerns, etc.
f. Demonstrate strong negotiation skills while working with developers, architects to solution the data needs.
3. Validate the accuracy, integrity and quality of Data developed
4. Support defects triage
a. Participate in the SIT, UAT defects triage and help set up a defect resolution path
b. Assess defects on their impacts and help set up priorities
5. Guide the production support team on unforeseen issues, ETL abends

Project and related application development are part the bank's providing management and regulatory reporting functionality in the areas of risk and compliance. Operational Risk Reporting application is beginning development and two Credit Risk application projects are nearing design phase. This position will work closely with these projects and follow-on risk application development participating in full project life cycle. The candidate would have the opportunity to be involved in the design and development of many aspects of the Corporate Risk Data Warehouse utilizing Oracle sql and pl/sql, data warehouse / ETL tools and Unix Scripts. In addition to design and development, this candidate is expected to be a lead technical resource for this division helping to set standards and practices for production support and maintenance of technical disciplines such as these that are new to this department. Ideally this candidate will also have previous well rounded experience with business application development as well as recent solid concentration on data warehouses, ETL processing and business intelligence tools. The data warehouse ETL processes will interface with numerous Northern Trust corporate transaction systems to gather information for the warehouse.

Experienced both in the specific business domain and the software engineering domain. These candidates are not only technology intensive but also possess experience of the specific business area. Have worked on similar projects and have a proven history of delivering high impact business solutions in the specific business area. Responsible for the technical vision, high-level architecture, design, and implementation of complex systems and applications. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with senior level business teams to ensure optimal results. Aside from the business specific knowledge, the individuals will also possess a complete understanding and mastery of the enterprise software development lifecycle.
