About the role

+ CBRE is looking for a Geotechnical Design Consultant! This position will manage the design activities related to design, construction and other projects for a large technology client. They will be responsible for preparing and producing proposals and planning applications to internal and external partners. This position will serve as a subject-matter resource in the analysis, evaluation, construction, and risk assessment of geotechnical and foundations design and engineering projects.

What you’ll do

+ Provide outstanding and responsive customer service, manage a complex and multifaceted workload, and be proactive in identifying and addressing a customer’s needs.

+ Provide assistance to clients on a variety of topics in the areas of civil and geotechnical engineering.

+ Create and provide various document types, including: scope of work (SOWs) statements, conceptual schematic designs, design specifications, construction specifications, drawing markups, total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses, budget estimates, schedules, acceptance documents, and review and acceptance of as-builts and submittals.

+ Conduct reviews of and critique geotechnical reports, design memoranda, design solutions, construction drawings, and other project documents.

+ Actively assist project teams and provide input pertaining to risks/hazards and limitations of the proposed site.

+ Proactively identify and collaborate to address gaps in program-level guidance and specifications

+ Apply knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish complex assignments and provide solutions.

+ Mentor others and share in-depth knowledge of the job subject area and broad understanding of several job fields within the function.

+ Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.

+ Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within the team and other related teams.

What you’ll need

+ Bachelor’s Degree preferred with 5-8 years of relevant experience in Civil / Geotechnical specialties. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. NCIDQ or NCARB certification is helpful. Experience working with mission-critical facilities

+ Knowledge of compliance requirements of pertinent codes, regulations, and standards.

+ Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.

+ Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.

+ In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products or Google Suite products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

+ Organizational skills with an advanced inquisitive mentality.

+ Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Geotechnical and Foundation Design Consultant position is $120,000 and the maximum salary for the Geotechnical and Foundation Design Consultant position is $170,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
