Responsibilities

Plan and implement child care and educational activities for assigned children.

+ Ensure instructional activities are developmentally appropriate and reflect their individual interests.

+ Complete required lesson plans and maintain accurate and timely documentation of all required activities and interactions.

+ Ensure that assigned equipment and materials are adequately maintained in safe working order and recommend new equipment as appropriate.

+ Maintain positive communications with child’s parents/guardians and incorporate their recommendations into child’s daily routine.

Requirements

Education:

+ High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

+ Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Additional Preferences

Education:

Infant-Toddler CDA certification OR Illinois Gateways Level 2 infant-toddler certification within 6 months of hire

Associate’s in early childhood education preferred.

Director-qualified (21 ECE credit hours and 3 business/admin credit hours) a plus

Work Experience: A minimum of one year of experience in early childcare is expected

NOTE: To meet program guidelines associates must be at least 19 years old.

BLS/ CPR is needed; can be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Food Handler Certificate (obtained within 30 days of hire-will be included during new employee orientation/onboarding training)
