Key Responsibilities:

Flight Standards is responsible for all Flight Operations policies and procedures across all fleets and operating theaters in our global network. This team is also responsible for the assessment of risk and the mitigation of safety, operational, and performance related risk in the operation. Accurate, objective, and timely insight to relevant data is integral to safe flight operations for our employees and a safe, caring, dependable and efficient travel experience for our customers. This role is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of a cohesive safety data strategy to be employed within the Flight Standards organization for the purpose of exercising effective safety and risk related portfolio and project management.

This Senior Analyst – Flight Standards Safety and Performance will serve as a subject matter expert responsible for identifying and developing process improvement opportunities and providing data driven business insights related to the Flight Standards performance and execution of obligations to our safety programs, as well as safety, risk, and performance management responsibilities across all fleets and all operating theaters. The Senior Analyst will coordinate closely with multiple stakeholders in the Flight Operations and Corporate Safety divisions on the development of build solutions to support strategic and tactical projects. The focus is to build one holistic, Flight Standards safety and risk management dashboard. The Senior Analyst will help to enable the effective, transparent, and timely execution and tracking of Hazard Identifications, Corrective Action Preventative Actions, Safety Risk Assessments, and day-to-day volume drivers within the department, developing key safety and performance insights associated with the management of Flight Standards responsibilities throughout the business.

+ Assists in the development and build high-quality visual presentations, dashboards, tools and reports for the Flight Standards organization. Design tables and views that serve as the “single source of truth” for United’s Flight Standards data

+ Collaborates with Digital Technology and Operational teams to analyze, track, predict, and reduce safety risks while providing visibility through data and visualizations of the progress across a range of initiatives

+ Partners with the Digital Technology team and leverage Flight Ops IKC to develop streamlined and comprehensive data analytics workstreams

+ Coordinates with stakeholders in United’s Safety Management System (SMS) to integrate performance and safety related initiatives (Hazard Identification and Corrective Actions) with real-time data analytics by designing and developing models to track task progress, completion, and the interdependencies of responsibilities across fleet specific and fleet agnostic teams and tasks

+ Assist in the development and builds high-quality visual presentations, dashboards, tools and reports for the Flight Standards organization. Design tables and views that serve as the “single source of truth” for United’s Flight Standards data

+ Ability to prioritize assignments and program responsibilities, while communicating and sharing updates with US and India based senior leadership, along with experience developing and delivering product presentations

+ Defines and allocates resources, tracks and provides status reporting of work assignments, projects, programs

+ Provides technical guidance on the design, development and implementation for automation workflows across multiple functional in corporate safety

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

+ Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of relevant work experience in computer science, data science, information systems, engineering, or another quantitative field (i.e. mathematics, statistics, economics, etc.)

+ At least 2 years of analytics experience

+ Proficient with writing complex queries and procedures (i.e. SQL, Python, Foundry, etc.)

+ Experience with Data Visualization development using one or more of the reporting tools (i.e. Spotfire, Tableau, Python, HTML, Javascript, Power Automate, Spark Node, etc.) for queries, procedures, dashboards and final formatted reporting in an email format

+ Ability to study/understand Flight Operations business needs, then design a data/technology solutions that connect business processes, Safety Management Systems obligations, and performance objectives with quantifiable outcomes

+ Strong project management and communication skills

+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

+ Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

+ Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position

The salary for this position is $73,425 to $107,690, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, education and skills. This range is based on a full-time schedule.
