Intern – Business Technology Delivery

JOB SUMMARY

Jump start your IT career with Ryder Systems, Inc.! Ryder’s Information Technology organization is strategically focused on growing the supply chain and transportation businesses through new technology-driven solutions that focus on optimizing transportation and supply chain networks.

The Business Technology Delivery Intern will have real-life hands-on experience of being a technology partner to a supply change final mile business. Will learn the final mile supply chain business operations and the technical skills needed to support these operations. Learning opportunities will include how to gather & document business requirements and translate them to Functional design specifications, SQL script writing, Basic RPG coding & Systems QA testing.

RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Business Requirements gathering

+ Functional Specs design

+ Documentation for System enhancements

+ Systems change testing

+ Opportunity for some coding

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

H.S. diploma/GED – High School Diploma or equivalent required

Actively pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Computer Engineering preferred – additional technical majors or business major with technical concentration may be applicable

EXPERIENCE

+ 0 to One (1) year Educational/work experience related to technology

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

+ Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities are essential

+ Highly Analytical

+ Ability to understand business needs

+ Ability to create and maintain professional relationships within all levels of the organization (peers, work groups, customers, supervisors)

+ Ability to work independently and as member of a team

KNOWLEDGE

+ Some coding knowledge is a bonus

+ General knowledge of the operations of a business – required

DOT Regulated: No

This internship will pay:

$18/hr. for students currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree

$20/hr. for students enrolled in a Master’s degree
