Position Overview:

We are looking for a diligent and experienced Accounting Specialist to manage financial transactions efficiently. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to contribute to a fast-paced and collaborative work environment within the financial industry. This is a direct-hire/permanent role located in the Quad City Area.

Responsibilities:

+ Perform daily accounting tasks such as accounts payable/receivable processing, journal entries, and reconciliations.

+ Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and analysis.

+ Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and update financial data in the general ledger system.

+ Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely resolution of accounting issues.

+ Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and adjustments.

+ Assist in the implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and internal controls.

+ Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

+ Participate in special projects and initiatives as assigned by management.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred OR years of equivalent experience

+ 3-5+ years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within the financial services industry.

+ Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).

+ Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.

+ Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and precision in work.

+ Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

+ Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
