Position Summary, Requirements, and Qualifications


Overview
The Department of Computer Science at the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Northern Illinois University (NIU), invites applications for instructor positions in order to create a pool for advance and short-notice hiring. These will be part or full-time temporary instructor positions. Start dates vary based on programmatic needs.


We are seeking potential candidates to provide high-quality teaching in the areas of Computer Science who fully embrace NIU's mission of providing opportunity to a diverse student body by providing them with access to high quality education.

Position Summary
The Computer Science Instructor will be responsible for teaching various topics in Computer Science at both the undergraduate level and graduate levels, supervising student teaching assistants, and holding office hours. Applicants may be required to provide "in person" instruction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Teaching load will be no more than 13 credit hours during fall semester, no more than 13 credit hours during Spring semesters, and other duties as assigned.

Master's in Computer Science or closely related field
