The Life Fitness Internship Program 2024 is now accepting applicants in their junior and senior year. We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Summer interns. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Information Technology and develop valuable skills and contribute to Life Fitness' mission and goals.
Successful applicants will be assigned meaningful and challenging work suitable for their background. The program advisor(s) and mentors will meet with you regularly to identify and develop your summer objectives. All positions are PAID and based in the Chicagoland area. The Internship Program will run for three (3) months.
Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in the day-to-day development related activities of the Information Technology team. These will include:
- Troubleshooting and repairing broken computer hardware, including diagnosing and replacing faulty components such as RAM, hard drives, power supplies, and peripherals.
- Assisting in the deployment of operating systems for new computers, ensuring proper installation, configuration, and integration with existing systems.
- Collaborating with team members to author and update knowledge articles documenting common issues, resolutions, and best practices, contributing to the enhancement of the ticketing system's knowledge base.
- Supporting computer hardware asset management processes by assisting in inventory tracking, tagging assets, updating records, and performing periodic audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.
- Assisting the information security team with remediating high and critical severity vulnerabilities by patching affected systems.
- Actively contribute and have an impact in a business-critical project.
- Perform day-to-day duties and responsibilities in related field or business function.
- Collaborate with fellow interns on a ten-week-long group case study and present the results to senior leaders, stakeholders, and managers.
- Attend and participate in team meetings.
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in full-time Information Technology related bachelor's degree program (e.g. ...), graduating in 2024 or 2025.
- Good academic standing, GPA 3.5 or higher.
- Initiative, positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
- Excellent organizational skills
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to adapt well to different situations and thrive in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
