Executive Advisor – GovCloud Cyber Defense Architect

Location: This position will work a hybrid model (remote & office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health Pulse Point locations.

The Executive Advisor – GovCloud Cyber Defense Architect will be responsible for the design, execution, and ongoing operations of our highly secured government cloud computing environment. In this role, you will play a strategic role in ensuring the company’s understanding and compliance with the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) and their relevant cybersecurity regulations.

How You Will Make An Impact:

+ Provide strategic guidance to the leadership team on cybersecurity risks, including FedRAMP requirements and best practices.

+ Ensure compliance with IT/Cyber certification, training, and knowledge mandates that are enforced by the DoDD 8140.01.

+ Lead the development and implementation of cybersecurity FedRAMP compliance strategy and roadmap.

+ Leads development of an information security risk management program that includes business, regulatory, industry practices and technical environment considerations.

+ Develops enterprise-wide security incident response plans and strategies that includes integration with business, compliance, privacy, and legal constituents and requirements.

+ Provides advanced level engineering design functions; provides trouble resolution and serves as point of technical escalation on complex problems.

+ Evaluate current processes and systems against FedRAMP standards, generate compliance monitoring reports, and provide recommendations for advancing the company’s cybersecurity posture.

+ Participate actively in relevant cybersecurity taskforces, workshops, seminars and professional groups to stay abreast of the latest developments in the field.

+ Assist in incident response investigations, identifying root cause, implementing containment measures, and performing forensic analysis.

+ Utilize data for making informed decisions and conducting comprehensive analysis.

+ Document and maintain a knowledge base of alarms (false positives and false negatives, indicators of compromise, tactics, techniques, and procedures) that detection systems encounter.

+ Mentor, train, and coach junior level staff.

Minimum Requirements:

+ Requires BS/BA in Information Technology or related field of study and a minimum of 10 years’ experience in systems administration and security aspects of information systems, access management and network security technologies, network communications, computer networking, telecommunications, systems development and management, hardware, software, data, and people; experience with multiple technical and business disciplines required; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

+ U.S. Citizenship is required for this position. This position/candidate will support the Department of Defense Military OneSource program.

+ Security Clearance issued by Department of Defense is required as part of this role (Security Clearance at the time of hire is preferred, or you must be willing to submit and obtain necessary credentials).

Preferred Skills, Capabilities & Experiences:

+ Prior experience in a similar role involving cybersecurity strategic planning and IT governance.

+ Deep understanding of FedRAMP, NIST, and other relevant cybersecurity frameworks highly preferred.

+ Strong knowledge of the evolving cybersecurity landscape and associated threats.

+ Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence at an executive level.

+ Proven track record of managing complex IT projects and operational processes.

+ In-depth knowledge of each phase of the Incident Response lifecycle.

This job is assigned to an entity that conducts government business, the applicant and incumbent fall under a `sensitive position’ work designation and is subject to additional requirements beyond those associates outside Government Business Divisions. Requirements include, but are not limited to, obtaining and maintaining a ‘Secret level security clearance’, which entails more stringent and frequent background checks, segregation of duties principles, role specific training, monitoring of daily job functions, and sensitive data handling instructions.
