Overview
Starting pay for this position is $16.83/hour.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Safety Companion II will provide virtual or in person at the bedside continuous observation for up to 10 patients at a time. The Safety Companion II is responsible for verbally redirecting the patient from engaging in at-risk behaviors. The Safety Companion will provide safe basic patient cares along with the treatment team which includes assisting with activities of daily living, observation of patients for physical/emotional changes, repositioning, etc. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts and communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care. Duties may vary according to department expectations and supportive services needed for specified group of patients in assigned areas, for all age groups, which will contribute to the comfort and well-being of the patient. Remains knowledgeable and supportive of patient and patient confidentiality and related hospital policies.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High School/GED
Experience:
1 year work experience in a service industry

Proven ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions Efficiency in multitasking, with the ability to prioritize simultaneous situations Excellent telephone etiquette, with the ability to communicate compassionately and professionally with patients, using microphone and headset.
