Position Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Training and Development Specialist In this role, you will have the exciting opportunity to conduct both web-based and on-site mandated statewide training, ensuring that our dedicated professionals are equipped with the essential knowledge and skills. As a Training and Development Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining web-based and in-person training programs for program staff. Your expertise will also be crucial in monitoring and maintaining the statewide Care Coordinator certification status, ensuring that our team members are up to date with the latest industry standards.
Essential Functions1. Conducts web-based and travels to on-site mandated statewide training for Comprehensive Care Coordination (CCC) and for the Community Care Program (CCP), including Homecare Supervisor Training and CCP New Provider Management Training.
2. Researches, monitors, and evaluates the effectiveness of in person and web-based training through analyzing testing results, course completions, and participant evaluations.
3. Assists in developing, organizing, and implementing IDoA annual conference, other conferences, or trainings.
4. Provides training and assistance to CCUs and CCP Providers.
5. Prepares and submits required reports including Continuing Education sponsorship with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
6. Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonable within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
Specialized Skills- Requires two years of experience acting as a subject matter expert in answering CCP policy questions.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in business, public administration, gerontology, or psychology.
- Requires prior experience equivalent to three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.
- Prefers two years of experience demonstrating a working knowledge of the Community Care Program, Medicaid policy, and other HCBS.
- Prefers one years of experience demonstrating ability to analyze administrative problems and adopt effective courses of action.
- Prefers one year of experience demonstrating the ability to exercise judgement and discretion in developing, implementing, interpreting, and presenting departmental policies and procedures as well as proper handling of confidential client and program data.
1. Requires ability to pass a criminal background check.
2. Requires minimal travel in and out of state.
