Job Description
Data Engineer for Paylocity Corporation in Schaumburg, IL to design, create, deploy, and maintain Paylocity’s data architecture. Engineer the tactical work of getting source data to its target. Design, develop, test, performance optimize, and deploy data pipelines using Apache Spark. Design and develop software components of Paylocity’s Data Platform and deployment pipelines. Work in close partnership with other Engineering teams, including Data Science, and crossfunctional teams, such as Product Management and Product Design. Create/maintain monitoring and alerting of Paylocity’s Data Platform and provide operational support. Requires: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus two (2) years of experience as a Data Engineer (or closely related occupation) using Python, writing SQL queries, and optimizing ETL jobs and SSIS. Specific skills/other requirements: using AWS/GCP data-related services; using APM solutions, such as GitHub, ELK; using UNIX/Linux systems, including basic commands and shell scripting; and using team collaboration tools Jira/Confluence. This is a telecommute position. Position reports to Paylocity Corporation headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois. May work from a home office anywhere in the United States.
