Job Description

The ACGME is looking for a highly skilled Program Evaluation Analyst with extensive knowledge of performance measurement systems and clinical outcomes data. The analyst will assist in developing, implementing, and refining the Clinical Outcomes Program. The analyst will be responsible for supporting the analysis of clinical outcomes data to inform performance improvement initiatives across ACGME-accredited Sponsoring Institutions and their clinical learning environments. Candidates should have knowledge and experience with quantitative and qualitative research, including conducting detailed and complex analyses using advanced statistical methods and interpreting findings for diverse audiences. 

 

Clinical outcomes data can provide an additional perspective of the clinical learning environments that host GME. The goal of the Clinical Outcomes Program is to build on existing health care performance measurement systems to assess the quality of clinical learning environments according to the Quintuple Aim, which simultaneously improves patient experience of care, population health, health care practitioner work life, and health equity, while lowering per capita cost. 

  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

  

  • Support all phases of program design and implementation as they relate to performance measurement and clinical outcomes data of clinical learning environments. 
  • Support the development and monitoring of key performance metrics to assess clinical learning environments according to the Quintuple Aim. 
  • Support scholarly literature reviews on performance measurement frameworks and clinical outcomes data as they pertain to the clinical learning environment and GME, and curate into a usable resource. 
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure programmatic goals and objectives are met. 
  • Coordinate and/or co-facilitate discussions, meetings, and events with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Support the development, organization, and management of data collection activities and longitudinal databases. 
  • Implement appropriate data management strategies for a wide range of objectives. 
  • Work with large and complex data sets utilizing qualitative and quantitative research skills, including detailed and complex statistical analyses. 
  • Interpret, summarize, and communicate analyses into meaningful data tables, sophisticated visualizations, presentations, and documentation. 
  • Lead the development of materials across multiple modes of dissemination (e.g., written reports, briefs, scientific papers) for various stakeholder groups. 
  • Create ad hoc reports or data files in response to specific data inquiries. 
  • Conduct data quality assurance activities. 
  • Work closely with team members to validate and ensure accuracy of data. 
  • Compile data and generate reports to document status of data sets. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

  

QUALIFICATIONS 

 

Minimum 

 

  • Master’s degree in statistics, social science, or related discipline that provides a solid foundation in mixed-methods research methodology. 
  • At least 5 years of professional experience with performance measurement systems. 
  • Experience in program evaluation or in an applied research setting. 
  • Familiarity with the most recent performance measurement methodologies. 
  • Experience working in complex organizations with diverse programmatic needs. 
  • Exceptional analytical and research skills. 
  • Expertise in analyzing large data sets using SPSS or SAS and advanced statistical techniques (proficiency in SPSS preferred). 
  • Experience with qualitative data analysis software (e.g., NVivo, MAXQDA). 
  • Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Proven ability to work in teams that may involve internal and external collaborators. 
  • Strong critical thinking and analytic skills, and the ability to summarize disparate information in a clear and concise manner. 
  • Ability to multitask and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment with overlapping timelines. 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with other team members. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. 
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing conditions and requirements.

Preferred 

 

  • PhD in a relevant field of study. 
  • Experience in interacting with advanced-degree professionals and familiarity with health care and performance measurement systems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS 

 

  • This position is based in a typical office environment with no specific or unusual physical or environmental demands.  
  • Most of the work performed is normally done in the ACGME office and/or a home office with the typical physical demands of an office environment.
