Job Description
CDW LLC seeks a Sr. Software Engineer I – Data to perform the following duties:
- Develop business software solutions for complex and large-scale projects through object and data modeling, database design, programming, quality assurance, and implementation support utilizing knowledge of product lifecycle, object-oriented design, and programming techniques, focused on work with CDW’s Master Data Management platforms.
- Work with Lead and Senior Application Administrators to understand business needs and clarify requirements.
- Develop applications to CDW coding standards and quality, to include writing software code to meet business specifications, writing database queries to collect the data needed by the business, and implementing database designs into the physical database.
- Collaborate with other developers and architects to determine the optimal solution architecture to ensure application efficiency, maintainability, and scalability.
- Develop system test plans, ensure software quality assurance (SQA) standards are achieved, and validate that business goals are accomplished.
- Perform all stages of the software development lifecycle including requirements gathering, design, development, testing and implementation, using database design, data management, and data quality concepts.
- Develop documentation for end users.
- Regularly report project/task status to the appropriate Application Development Manager.
- Ensure stakeholders are responded to in a timely and professional manner and foster open lines of communication with all parties.
- Define Rest API schemas and perform regression testing, smoke testing and performance testing using JMeter, Git, Tosca DI, Jenkins and Splunk.
- Document new and existing processes and demonstrate new development to the team.
- Use Informatica MDM to design, develop, optimize, and support MDM for various domains.
- Participate in daily scrums using TFS and Kanban board; follow Agile methodologies for CDW EBI Finance and Accounting team.
- Write SQL database queries.
- Streamline ETL processes to extract data from iSeries, SQL Server, IBMi, add transformations and load into Datawarehouse using SSIS, SQL and .NET.
- Develop and maintain data models using SSAS, MDX, SQL and data warehousing concepts.
- Support data governance activities using Azure Purview, Azure Data Lake and Azure Data Factory.
- Utilize a variety of other technologies and tools including Object Oriented Concepts, Database Design Concepts, XML, Eclipse, SQL Server, SSIS, Java, JSON, Informatica Toolset, TFS, Git, GitHub, Postman, REST APIs, Azure based services, Tosca DI, Python, P360, JMeter, Jenkins, SSAS, Splunk, Excel, and testing.
The job is based out of CDW’s Vernon Hills, IL headquarters but the employee may work remotely from anywhere in the U.S.
