Wieland is hiring a Maintenance Technician. The maintenance technician will be responsible for maintaining machinery's mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems in top working condition. This role is located in Carol Stream, Il and will be fully on-site.
Starting Pay: $24-28 per hour
Schedule: M-F 8-4:30
Responsibilities
Maintenance Technician Responsibilities:
Disassemble machines and take off parts for replacement or repair by using cranes, hoists, chain falls, hand tools, power tools and jacks. Put machine parts together after accomplishing maintenance and repair work
Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety of maintenance shop and facility.
Maintain parts and tools inventory
Adhere to all safety policies and protocols including but limited to the Lock Out Tag Out procedures and the electrical and mechanical machine safety policies.
Track work accurately through the maintenance tracking software, completing work orders in a timely fashion. Communicate with internal customers about status.
Perform routine preventative maintenance work on slitting, traverse, & winding equipment as well as various other machines. Perform quality inspections on work completed.
Troubleshoot basic electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues accurately and expeditiously.
Physical Demands - Frequent standing, walking, stooping and use of hands to access components of machines that need attention. Occasional need to lift up to 50 pounds.
Occasional off hours work as required to support production needs.
Coordinate with internal customers at Wieland locations to properly schedule planned downtime & maintenance on machinery/work order requests.
Traveling to other facilities as needed
Other duties as required.
Maintenance Technician Qualifications:
High School Diploma.
Basic mechanical aptitude as well as knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Slitting equipment experience preferred.
Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic blueprints
Safety program experience is a plus, passion for safety is required.
Self- motivated, high energy.
Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal communication skills and organization skills.
Excellent organization and follow-through skills.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Must be detail-oriented and recognize importance of accuracy and timeliness in completing tasks.
