Job Summary/General Purpose of Job
Manages the administrative operation of the IT department/entity on a day-to-day basis. Manages, maintains, and monitors the IT budget to ensure that allocation of expenditures is consistent with Association financial policies. Coordinates the purchasing of goods and services, which includes obtaining bids and proposals, and processing contracts and disbursements. Manages the portfolio of IT projects, tracking and reporting status and working with individual IT Directors and IT Managers on resource allocation, scheduling, risk management, and prioritization.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)
Prepares and monitors project plans.
Reports status and recommends corrective actions to maintain project schedule, quality, and deliverables.
Accountable for the attainment of significant project goals from inception through fruition
Administers all aspects of the IT budgetary process and advises IT staff on budget particulars.
Manages administrative processes; i.e., contract administration, iprocurement, invoices, member reimbursements; and develops system to effectively manage
Supports and assists with IT meetings and materials.
Analyzes and identifies operational and process-oriented problems and proposes solutions.
Provides single-point-of-contact expertise to both internal and external entities to ensure optimal delivery of service levels, mitigation of duplicative effort, and enhanced communications, as appropriate.
Identifies best and next practices and introduces such initiatives into project management and leadership activities.
May supervise work of administrative or operational staff
Performs other related duties as required.
Required Education, Qualifications, Experience
Possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or 4 or more years directly relevant work experience in a professional setting.
At least 5 years' experience in an administrative or operational capacity, with demonstrated experience overseeing relevant programs and/or projects.
Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office suite of products.
Preferred Education, Qualifications, Experience
Depending on departmental assignment, previous experience or expertise [e.g., specialized training, etc.} may be required.
Previous experience feedback, coaching, counseling, direction, performance appraisal to an assigned group of employees.
Physical Requirements
Typical office work environment.
Extent of Travel Required in the Job
As a normal course of business, this job will typically require travel of less than 25% of the time.
