Position Summary
The Transportation and Logistics (TransLog) Laboratory at the University of Illinois Chicago is at the forefront of researching innovative solutions to today's transportation challenges. Our mission is to contribute to the understanding, design, development, and evaluation of efficient, sustainable, and technologically advanced transportation systems at different scales.

We are excited to announce an opening for a Postdoctoral Research Associate with a passion for redefining transportation through emerging clean technologies. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in our ongoing projects on Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) and truck platooning, aiming to revolutionize how people and goods move in an environmentally friendly manner.

Duties & Responsibilities

Conduct rigorous mathematical modeling and analysis of modern transportation systems, focusing on clean transportation technologies.

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to design and evaluate innovative transportation solutions.

Contribute to the development of research reports and proposals.

Publish findings in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and present at leading conferences.

Mentor graduate students and engage in the academic life of the TransLog group and the CME department.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications


PhD in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field.
Strong background in transportation systems modeling and analysis.
Expertise in clean transportation technologies, particularly Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) and truck platooning.
Proficiency in optimization modeling and software (e.g., Python and Gurobi/CPLEX).
Demonstrated ability to publish research findings in reputable scientific journals.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
