Description:

The Department of English at the University of Illinois at Chicago seeks highly qualified and motivated candidates for the position of Lecturer. We are hiring for multiple positions for our program in First-Year Writing as well as our concentration in Professional Writing.

Lecturers in the English Department teach a 3/3 load. In addition to teaching, lecturers are responsible for attending required staff meetings and professional development workshops throughout the year, and for performing some service to the department. Lecturers become eligible for multiyear contracts as well as consideration for promotion to Senior Lecturer after three years.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
MA, MFA, PhD or equivalent is required.

Preferred Qualifications
Qualifications in film and media studies, ELL or TESOL, and/or significant Professional or Technical Writing experience are especially desirable.
