Gannett Fleming's construction management professionals provide services on projects ranging from highway, bridge, and transit; to buildings and municipal infrastructure, including drinking water and sanitary systems. Our Construction Management Practice in the Chicago Metro area is currently seeking top-notch Construction Manager (CM) professionals - Resident Engineers - with Public Agency experience including but not limited to IDOT, Illinois Tollway, CDOT, and local counties.

Duties
Experienced Resident Engineer on Highway, Bridge, and/or roadway projects providing Construction Management and Oversight of construction contractors work on behalf of clients
Reporting to client representatives and acting as company point of contact
Prior experience working as Client Representative for Construction Management and Oversight of construction contractors work
Conducting progress meetings and processing contractor pay requests along with coordination of multiple contractors within the same project.

Gannett Fleming's Resident Engineer will report directly to Gannett Fleming Project Manager and interface directly with the Client's assigned Program Manager. RE support services as directed by PM and Client with a focus on maintaining the project schedule, achieving necessary milestones, oversight of project documentation, and monitoring contractor quality.

Additionally, the RE will:
Perform Value Engineering and/or Constructability Reviews, as requested
Document, monitor, evaluate, and resolve field construction problems with focus on maintaining the project schedule
Monitor CPM schedule(s) and assist with schedule management to include.
Review contactor schedules
Facilitate two-week look ahead schedules to be updated weekly
Coordinate contractor scheduled activities and focus on critical path
Conduct regular progress meetings
Monitor progress towards specific project milestones
Prepare and distribute construction summary reports and photos as requested.
Establish and maintain a system of document control according to the client requirements
Facilitate pre-construction meetings and coordination meetings
Prepare correspondence drafts and responses to contractor inquiries and submissions
Evaluate potential change orders
Establish and coordinate necessary interaction among the project's designers, contractors, communities, environmental regulators, utility companies, local government, and other project stake holdersEducation | Experience:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering-related field (Civil/Structural Engineering, Construction Management, etc.)
Illinois Professional Engineering License (PE) required
Valid driver's license
Minimum of 12 years of construction inspection/management experience
Minimum of 5 years' experience working as a Resident Engineer on IDOT and/or Illinois Tollway projects
IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities (S-14) and eBuilder training requiredCompany Overview:
