Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As an Estimator at Veolia, you will play an integral role in the development of pre-Contract commercial offers. Specifically, system and equipment pricing for industrial thermal systems for the chemical processing, by-product recovery and water reclamation. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

+ As a member of the inquiry sales team, help to develop priorities, be involved in evolving Customer and internal requirements and provide feedback on optimizing costing alternatives.

+ In conjunction with the inquiry sales team, and using a combination of calculated values, current quotations, historical data, estimations, and empirical data correlate the system process design concept into a structured estimate with detailed equipment descriptions, nominal material requirements, commodity requirements, engineering man hours, freight estimation, associated contingencies and financial instruments.

+ Maintain information on commodity costs and pricing trends within applicable markets.

+ Interface with outside suppliers, fabricators, consultants and equipment vendors, as needed, to obtain bids and costing information in support of inquiry costing.

+ Assist in developing internal quantities for third party construction and material bid packages.

+ Support tender manager by generating cost information to support the preparation of internal documents for proposal generation and corporate review documents.

Qualifications

+ Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field.

+ A strong analytic capability with 5-7 years experience preferred in estimating or engineering/design.

+ A background understanding of the assembly, manufacture, fabrication and construction of industrial equipment is a benefit.

+ Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets is required.
