Job Description

Position Summary:
The Maintenance and Operations Manager oversees and leads maintenance and repair operations for Ecolab's Naperville Campus. Responsibilities include maintain equipment, track expenses, and ensure facilities are well-cared for and adequate to support business operations.

The Maintenance and Operations Manager supervises all installation, repair, and upkeep operations of the facilities. Flexible, extended working hours may occasionally be required to meet the demands of the role.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements
Manage a staff of 17 mechanics and support staff
Develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation
Plan and oversee repair and installation activities
Carry out inspections of the facilities and resolve issues
Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance
Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
Allocate workload and supervise upkeep staff, i.e., janitorial, etc.
Monitor equipment inventory and place orders as required
Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities
Develop and maintain five-year maintenance capital plan.
Lead team development programs that keep skills current

Nonessential Functions:
Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
8 years supervisory experience
Proven experience as maintenance manager or another managerial role
Pushes decision-making to the lowest level of the organization
Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
Experience planning maintenance activities
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems, etc.
Ability to keep track of and report on activity
Strong organizational and leadership abilities
Effective communication and people management skills
Good writing skills
Able to effectively communicate with senior executives, stakeholders and finance departments, contractors, and suppliers
Ability to exercise sound judgment as appropriate to support successful operations. Demonstrated knowledge and skills in assessing and mitigating risks through risk planning, financial management.

Physical Demands:
While performing duties of job, incumbent is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands and arms. Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision and distance vision.
