Powder Coat Operator (2:00pm to 10:30pm)

Powder Coat Operator. This is a 2nd shift position (2pm-10:30pm)
Essential Functions:
Load and unload parts or product onto fixtures
Prepare parts for coating
Follow all principles and practices of powder coating application
Operate all coating equipment including guns, hoppers and booth systems
Observe machine gauges and equipment operation to detect defects
Determine paint flow, viscosity and coating quality by performing visual inspections or by using viscometers
Bake parts at appropriate temperatures within time limitations
Ensure that all components are produced/coated efficiently, and are consistent with company established goals for quality before passing on to the next operation
Perform proper cleaning and daily maintenance of equipment
Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
Contribute to team effort by training others in performance of powder coat operations tasks as needed
Inspect all work and ensure it meets requirements prior to passing it on to the next operation
Document actions by completing production and quality forms
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be able to safety use small hand and power tools
Must be able to read and interpret Drawings and Bills of Material
Must have basic computer skills
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with other team members
Ability to effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written, and to communicate instructions to others in a clear, professional and respectful manner.
Demonstrated ability to work independently without constant supervision
Education/Experience:
High School diploma, GED or combination of work experience and skill development required
2-4 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment
1-2 years' experience working as a painter or powder coat operator
Physical Demands: (The work is classified as Medium - Heavy Physical Demand Level (PDL) by the US Dept of Labor's Dictionary of Occupational Titles) Frequencies: Occasional (1-33%); Frequent (34-66%); Continuous (67-100%)
Lifting Demands
Lift up to 50 lbs. on a frequent basis floor to waist
Lift up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis floor to chest
Carry up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis up to 25 feet
Push/pull up to 100 lbs on an occasional basis
Postural Demands
Standing - continuous
Walking - continuous
Bending/stooping - continuous
Squatting/kneeling - continuous
Lifting - continuous
Miscellaneous Demands
Griping, manipulation, fingering - frequent to continuous
Variable hand/power tool use - frequent
Two-person lifting tasks using assistive devices for lifting, pulling and pushing including hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts and hoists
