Job Description:

Specific Job Task - Datacenter Power Infrastructure Project Manager will manage the engineering scope, schedule, and budget for greenfield, brownfield and retrofit engineering / design projects.  This position will manage internal and external resources for the delivery of the Datacenter power infrastructure to align with the Corporation datacenter capacity roadmap.

Roles and Responsibilities - The Datacenter Utility Power Infrastructure Project Manager will be responsible for the facilitation and delivery of  industry-leading datacenter power infrastructure including the development of new technology and advanced concepts from pre-programming through design development, construction, and the turnover to Operations.  This role will provide infrastructure coordination, management, and overall leadership for our datacenter power infrastructure. To be successful in this role the candidate will oversee the delivery of multiple, concurrent, complete distribution, substation, and transmission projects supporting datacenter solutions aligned with the scopes, schedules, and budgets of the projects.  The Design Manager will engage with key MS stakeholder groups within Company as well as outside vendors who specialize in datacenter architecture and engineering. 

Skills and Qualifications - Successful candidates will manage multiple utility provider teams of engineers and designers to deliver multiple projects aligned with the defined scope, schedule, and budget.  The candidate must have excellent project management, communication, organization, and leadership skills. Candidates must possess a high level of proficiency in transmission and substation design and construction.   The candidates must also be able to work with other technical and non-technical groups in a fast- paced environment and do so with an even temperament. The candidate must be a person of integrity, be methodical, detailed-oriented with a strong work ethic.

Basic Qualifications -  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field or 10 years’ experience in substation design and/or delivery
  • Electrical Engineer / Professional Engineer is a plus
  • Candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lead teams of engineers in advanced engineering and operational processes and procedures as they relate to large datacenter environments.

Experience Required

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in consulting engineering or construction of substations
  • And/or minimum of 5 years’ experience as lead engineer, design manager or project manager of transmission or substation projects
  • And/or minimum of 5 years’ experience with datacenter engineering or construction

Develop, maintain, and manage program requirements, plans, timeline, issues, risks and challenges.  Support Managers to drive a program or projects.  Work closely with program/process owners, stakeholders, and business partners to identify business change and drive the consensus necessary to adopt a manageable change strategy.  Manage programs and projects involving multiple parties/organizations with conflicting agendas and business priorities.  Lead cross-organization project teams towards targeted and scheduled outcomes.  Engage with program/process owners, stakeholders and business partners as necessary to communicate project objectives, strategy, tactics, and ongoing progress
