Hourly Position
Requirements: 1 year minimum of Industrial Maintenance (Hydraulics, Mechanical, Electrical) experience. Must hold a valid KY Inexperienced or Experienced Underground Miner Certification.
Reports to: Maintenance Foreman
The essential functions of this position were determined to be not limited to:
1. Perform preventive maintenance and repair/replacement of component parts, on all production and support equipment.
2. Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment, i.e., greasing, fluid checks, oil and filter changes, etc.
3. Other duties may be required as assigned by the Maintenance Foreman or the Mine Foreman.
Work Objective: To help Mechanics maintain and repair underground mining equipment and machinery.
Work Schedule: Will work five (5) days, Monday through Friday. Periodically, miners will be required to work a sixth (6th) day on Saturday. Overtime may be required by the maintenance foreman or the mine foreman. This could be a rotating position between days and second shift or straight third shift position. Must be willing to work any shift.
Position Summary: Operate equipment and use various hand tools including hammers, knives, etc. as required. Must be able to lift 50 to 100 lbs. Work closely with others in a team effort.
Must be willing to obtain Underground Electrical Certification within 2 years from employment start date.
