Job Description
SPECIALIST, SAP DATA SERVICES/INFORMATION STEWARD (IS) – Abbott Laboratories / Waukegan, IL
Develop and execute IT strategies for Extraction, Load, Transformation (ETL) processes globally for Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and related software, including SAP S/4 HANA, SAP SolMan application lifecycle management software (ALM), AutoSys, SAP Data Service Management Console (DSMC), SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) module. Design ETL processes and build tasks as well as make recommendations to meet project requirements. Provide technical direction on projects and subject matter expertise, work closely with business analyst, process team and business users. Identify current and emerging business needs and evaluate solutions using standard information systems methodologies and best practices. Develop, lead, or review the creation of ETL strategy to support strategic requirements for SAP data migration process utilizing SAP Data Services and Information Steward (IS), Legacy Transfer Migration Cockpit (LTMC). Contribute to development of roadmaps and business cases that sequence IT solutions working towards the achievement of the business strategies. Analyze and review business requirements and create functional design documents. Develop business relationships and integrate activities with other IT departments to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts. Identify standardization of processes and support solutions. Regularly communicate status of solutions and services. Develop and maintain Software Life Cycle (SLC) documentation and objects to support data ETL. Prepare testing plans to confirm that requirements and system design are accurate and complete. Conduct training and provide direct subject matter expertise to business and technical resources for SAP Data Services /Information Steward, including data migration processes and tools. Utilize procedural programming languages, including SQL and PL/SQLfor medical device manufacturing industry.
Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration or in a closely related field of study with at least 5 years of progressive professional Information Technology (IT) experience. In addition, position requires at least 3 years of experience in: (i) SAP data migration process utilizing SAP Data Services and Information Steward (IS) and Legacy Transfer Migration Cockpit (LTMC); (ii) developing and maintaining Software Life Cycle (SLC) documentation and objects to support data ETL; (iii) analyzing and reviewing business requirements and creating functional design documents; (iv) Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and related software, including SAP S/4 HANA, SAP SolMan application lifecycle management software (ALM), AutoSys, SAP Data Service Management Console (DSMC), and SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) module; (v) utilizing procedural programming languages, including SQL and PL/SQL; and (vi) ensuring IT systems compliance with GxP regulations and standards
