QuadCom 9-1-1 is now accepting applications for entry-level and lateral transfers for the position of Emergency Communications Operator.

QuadCom is a consolidated emergency communications system that provides emergency services to ten police and fire departments in northern Kane County, Illinois.  Emergency Communications Operators answer the call by handling all incoming 9-1-1 phone calls, providing efficient and prompt dissemination of information to responding police, fire, and EMS units.  They also answer seven-digit emergency and non-emergency lines and monitor several radio frequencies, an alarm board, and other emergency notification equipment for QuadCom communities.

Experienced (lateral) ECOs have the potential to earn higher than starting, based on their level of experience.

Emergency Communications Operators, upon completion of training, can earn Operator in Charge, Certified Operator in Charge, Certified Second Language (Spanish), and sick time (no use) incentives.  Vacation, Personal, Floating Holidays, and Sick time are accrued, with the ability to convert overtime and holiday pay into compensatory time off.  QuadCom has a 5-2/5-3, 8.5-hour workday schedule, allowing for rotating days off.  The midnight shift receives a quarterly shift differential.
