Overview

This intern will primarily work alongside the marketing public relations & communications coordinator at OSF St. Paul Medical Center in Mendota and on rare occasions will travel to OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center - Ottawa and OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center - Peru, as well as, around the I-80 and Illinois Valley regioin to represent OSF at community events. Ideally, they will work three to four days a week including some early evenings or weekend time for events as needed. Office hours are 8:00am-4:30pm when scheduled to work.
This internship will start late May2024 (after Memorial Day) and work through mid August 2024
Starting pay for this position is $17.00/hour
POSITION SUMMARY: The Marketing Intern is accountable for executing marketing initiatives at the hospital and ambulatory levels and serves on regional strategic marketing teams. The Marketing Intern will partner with members of Strategic Marketing, Internal Communications, Media Relations, Digital and Events teams to ensure timely and complete execution of marketing initiatives. The Marketing Intern will provide outstanding customer service, be an enthusiastic professional and be able to build relationships with internal and external individuals. This position includes a strong emphasis on public and community relations support for their assigned market(s).
Serves on regional marketing teams and as such is accountable to the Strategic Marketing Director for the region, their OSF Hospital(s), and service line(s).

Support OSF Public Relations and Communications Coordinators in grassroots community relations to represent OSF in the local community for special projects and events. This includes hospital and community event coordination, promotion, set-up/tear down and representing OSF HealthCare.

Assist in creation and distribution of weekly e-newsletter for Mission Partners and updates internal-facing portal for their assigned markets.

Assist in developing, editing and publishing social media content.

Assist in researching, drafting and distributing local media releases.

Assist the strategic marketing team with executing campaign-specific marketing plans.

Monitor assigned public websites and route user inquiries to internal subject matter experts.

Assist in the development, distribution and/or delivery of marketing materials.

Monitors competitor marketing materials both on and offline.

Prepares, rewrites and edits content for optimal readability.
Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Current student working towards a Bachelors Degree from a four-year college or university, with focus on marketing, advertising, corporate communication, public relations, journalism, or communications disciplines.
Must be available a minimum of 24 hours per week
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong oral and written communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Other skills/knowledge: organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments
Ability to work well under pressure and to manage multiple projects at one.
Previous work experience demonstrates strong work ethic, ability to be a self-starter and proactive approach to relationship management.
Work experience can include other internships, extracurricular activities and community volunteerism.
