Water Resources Project Manager
We are seeking a Water Resources Project Manager with a background in hydrology, hydraulics, and water resources engineering to oversee various projects. These projects encompass drainage studies, watershed modeling, floodplain mapping, and conceptual alternatives analysis. Additionally, the role involves integrating design components for flood mitigation, stormwater master planning, waterway restoration, water quality Best Management Practices (BMPs), and stormwater design, focusing on supporting transportation projects.
The ideal candidate should possess expertise in hydraulic analysis of open channels, dams, levees, and closed storm drainage systems, as well as designing open channels, culverts, bridges, and storm sewer infrastructure. Experience in scour analysis, streambank stabilization, and flood inundation mapping is essential. This role offers the opportunity to lead impactful water resources projects and contribute to the advancement of engineering solutions in the field.
Location
This position is remote and field-based, requiring occasional travel to project sites within the region.
The Impact You Will Have
Conduct hydraulic and hydrology (H&H) analysis and studies for various projects.
Evaluate stormwater design elements and contribute to the preparation of written reports and floodplain maps.
Assist in plan production related to drainage design, stormwater management, detention facilities, and water quality.
Collaborate on project goals and milestones, monitoring progress and ensuring adherence to budget and schedule.
Assist in preparing specifications and cost estimates for stormwater design and planning projects.
Ensure the development of high-quality engineering documents and compliance with internal procedures.
Facilitate project communications, including meeting minutes, technical documents, and reports.
Oversee task work plans for assigned team members and provide support to other civil design disciplines as needed.
What We Are Looking For
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.
Experience or strong interest in hydraulic and hydrology analysis and design.
Familiarity with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling programs such as HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, EPA-SWMM, etc.
Experience with GIS applications and plan production software like AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation/OpenRoads.
Knowledge of local and state agency drainage design criteria is advantageous.
Excellent communication, client relations, organization, and leadership skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Additional civil or transportation design skills are a plus.
