What You Will Do:

Caterpillar’s Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is seeking a talented Distribution Consultant at our Morton Distribution Center (DC).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

+ Leading the re-engineering of the flow of the Parts network from source to distribution eliminating redundant touches, reducing the distance material travels, and improving velocity while optimizing cost.

+ Act as a champion and advocate for Lean, providing training and coaching to internal customers such as Distribution Center Operations and other transactional areas of business.

+ Leads 2-3 moderately complex projects at a time starting from project chartering, solution design, implementation and through to stabilization.

+ Monitors progress of projects, discusses problems with affected areas, assures appropriate personnel are informed of problems and steps are in place to meet project timelines.

+ Establishes relationships and collaborates with business partners such as Global Parts Supply, Logistics Information Systems, Distribution Center Operations, Transportation, Inventory Management, Facility Engineering, and Packaging to monitor and correct value chain defects and deliver process improvements through Lean engineering concepts.

+ The position often confronts complex issues or problems which require careful analysis and diagnosis. Problems are often unique, and solutions can require original approaches. The incumbent may modify existing approaches or develop new solutions to improve quality, velocity and cost across the business.

+ Other duties as assigned by Caterpillar management from time-to-time.

What Will Set You Apart:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Engineering.

+ Previous 6 Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt experience.

+ Experience leading Lean Kaizen events and/or RIS’s/VST’s.

+ Experience with data analytics and/or Power BI.

+ Experience with SAP’s warehouse management system EWM.

+ Project Management Certification (PMP)
