Opportunity : Interim Controller with Epicor expertise

Location : Wood Dale, IL (hybrid: three days/week onsite)

Pay Rate : $70-95/hr W2 (negotiable depending on experience)

Duration : 6 months or longer starting ASAP

Jefferson Wells is seeking an experienced Interim Controller Consultant for our client in Wood Dale, IL (hybrid based). The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Epicor system capabilities within a manufacturing and distribution environment. This position will be responsible for various accounting and finance tasks including month-end close, account analysis, reconciliations, journal entries, cost accounting, and business process improvement. The consultant will play a pivotal role in advising and optimizing the system capabilities of Epicor while addressing accounting and finance process challenges.

Responsibilities:

+ Provide guidance and recommendations for optimizing system capabilities of Epicor.

+ Address accounting and finance process challenges, implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

+ Lead month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.

+ Perform detailed account analysis and reconciliations to ensure integrity of financial data.

+ Prepare and post journal entries as needed to accurately reflect financial transactions.

+ Utilize expertise in cost accounting principles to analyze and report on manufacturing and distribution costs.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for business process improvement.

Qualifications:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or MBA preferred.

+ Proven experience (5+ years) as a Controller or similar role in a manufacturing and distribution environment.

+ Expertise in Epicor system capabilities, with a focus on manufacturing and distribution modules.

+ Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting requirements.

+ Experience with month-end close processes, account analysis, reconciliations, and journal entries.

+ Ability to analyze and interpret financial data to drive informed business decisions.

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

+ Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and problem-solving.
